Simon Roofing 2009 Safety Statement

Simon Roofing is very proud of its safety record, which has shown continuous improvement year-to- year and now ranks among the very best in the roofing industry.

The most reliable indicator of a company's safety record is its Experience Modification Rate. This figure is derived by the insurance industry using a complex formula that takes into account many factors, including payroll, losses for that specific amount and performance of the industry as a whole.

Any figure higher than 1.0 is a debit modification and will result in higher insurance premiums. Figures below 1.00 are credit and result in lower premiums.

Simon's present Experience Modification Rate of .76 is among the lowest in all of the roofing industry - a testament to Simon's commitment to continuously improving our safety record.

The Incident Rate is the primary indicator of safety performance measurement. Incident Rates are fairly easy to figure out and can be compared between one company and another. It is widely used throughout the industry.

Incident rates are measurements of past performance and illustrate how many work related incidents have occurred and the severity of each one.

In 2008, Simon posted a 1.4 average which was 62% lower than the industry average of 3.9.

Simon Roofing's commitment to safety is relentless and ongoing; it includes training for all of its employees - on and off the roof. Our goal is to lower the Incident Rates and to decrease the Experience Modification Rate annually.
